On my 24th birthday, we had a small gathering in my house.

上回讀了林家次女以後，
發現我真是不適合讀「傳記」類的書籍。
曾經擔任讀者文摘總編輯的林太乙女士，
是林語堂的女兒，
寫出的文章文鄒鄒的，我只能勉強吞嚥。
再者，她的生平故事的後半段活像是歷史課本，
讀起來大部分的內容都梗在喉嚨，壓在胸口，
很辛苦。
可是書是借的，
又是這樣一個文學史上的傳奇人物，
傳奇人物的女兒，
只能抱著「我這麼庸俗所以需要加強文學造詣」的心態，
必恭必敬的啃完了它。
王偉忠口述的自傳就鮮活的多。
大概因為他本生就是個創意新鮮人，
從連環砲到我猜到康熙來了到超級新光大道，
他太了解當代挑食的人們只願意快速吸收怎樣的文字。
他的故事穿插著笑點，
還有一些資深藝人的故事，
整本書很輕鬆。
可是，他畢竟是鬼才，
３０歲就大紅大紫的鬼才，
讀著讀著，真的很不得不佩服他。
看完書後．．．
我好希望能夠幫王偉忠工作。
兩種生活，兩種面貌，
離開哪裡都是不捨，回到哪裡都是不適應。
在台灣，
溫哥華的溫度好羨慕，
點點繁星，和似乎比較大的外國月亮。
在溫哥華，
到處都是台灣人的台灣又好溫柔，
台語國語，我們能說著同一種文化，
有同一種體諒。
溫暖的西北雨，比起冰冷的風雪，
就是美了一點。
回到溫哥華，
覺得好討厭外國人．．．

I believe that meaning of life is to leave behind a beautiful story.
When one dies, there will be nothing left of him/her,
except the story, if it is good enough, that we will pass on, generation after generation.
But how sad it is that our lives should be dull, and only imagination can color it, how sad >
